Instagram Gets Live Rooms Feature To Allow Users Go Live With Multiple People

Popular photo-sharing service Instagram has announced to expand the ambit of its live broadcast feature. The company has launched the Live Rooms feature. The feature will allow users to go live on the platform with multiple people. The Live Rooms feature can accommodate more than two people in a single stream. The company said that users can now chat with up to three people in real-time. Earlier, Instagram stream allowed users to go live with only one person. Instagram said that the Live Rooms feature will be available to global users soon. The company said that Live Rooms will open more windows of creativity.

Instagram said that users can start a talk show, host a jam session with the Live Rooms feature. It will also increase the engagement time. To enable the Live Rooms feature, users will have to first swipe left and select the Live camera option. Tap on the Rooms icon to add users for the live session. One can also search and add other guests during the session. The one who has started a live session using Live Rooms will remain at the top of the screen. Instagram said that as a broadcaster, one can add a maximum of three guests. Instagram said that users that are blocked by any of the participating people in a particular interaction will not be able to join the session.

Instagram underlined that the Live Rooms will give more opportunities to users to earn money. The feature could grow following and thus increasing the visibility. Instagram noted that people have been using the Live feature more since the pandemic struck. Instagram also added support to make Live streams viewable on the web. Besides, it extended the duration of a stream to four hours. The maximum limit was fixed for 60 minutes earlier. Facebook which owns Instagram said that it is exploring more interactive tools to make the platform more happening. The company said that it will soon offer moderator controls and audio features to the users.
