YouTube

Popular video-sharing platform YouTube has introduced audio advertisements. It will help in connecting companies with their target audiences. It will offer an engaging and ambient listening environment to the users. The company wants the platform to be used by marketers and creators to grow their brand awareness. This is the first time when such a format of the advertisement has been designed. YouTube’s audio advertisement is currently in the beta phase. It said that audio ads will let brands efficiently expand reach. According to the company, this will give space to brands to be seen, hear, and get recognized alongside the content on the platform.

Brands will now be able to play audio soundtracks to deliver messages about their products. The visual component will basically be an image. It could also be an animation. The development comes after YouTube in an alpha testing discovered that over 70 percent of audio campaigns evoked significant reactions from users. YouTube said that companies can use both audio and video ads together to reach more people. This will give them options to consume content the way they enjoy. The beta version is already available via auction on Google Ads. The Google-owned company in the third quarter of 2020 brought in more than USD 5 billion in advertising revenue.

According to the company’s claim, it has over 30 million music and paid subscribers. It has over 35 million subscribers including free trials. On YouTube TV, there are over three 3 million paid subscribers. Besides, YouTube has also introduced dynamic music lineups and groups of music-focused channels. The channels are available across musical genres like Latin, K-pop, hip-hop, and others. In another related development, YouTube has canceled its annual Rewind celebration for this year. The company acknowledged that it is not right to carry on in the current circumstances. The event takes place in December every year where a video series is produced. The series features an overview and a recap of each year’s viral videos.
